¡¡¡¡Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -140 Favorites
¡¡¡¡Montreal will go for a commanding 3-0 lead and attempt to extend its winning streak to six games back at home in Game 3 of this North Division second-round playoff matchup against Winnipeg. The Canadiens blanked the Jets 1-0 on Friday as -105 road underdogs behind goaltender Carey Price¡¯s eighth career postseason shutout. Price stopped all 30 shots he faced while Tyler Toffoli scored the game¡¯s lone goal short-handed, which is all Montreal needed to take a 2-0 series lead away from home.
¡¡¡¡Winnipeg played the first of four games without center Mark Scheifele, who was suspended after a brutal hit on Jake Evans in Game 1. The Jets had won seven of the previous 11 meetings with the Canadiens, and the UNDER cashed for only the second time in nine games between the teams. It is also worth noting that Winnipeg won two games on the road over the Edmonton Oilers in the first round while Montreal lost its first two at the Bell Centre versus the Toronto Maple Leafs as well before rallying to win that series.
¡¡¡¡Opening NHL Odds: Pick¡¯em -110 Odds
¡¡¡¡Vegas will try to even this West Division second-round playoff series with Colorado at home following a huge win in Game 3 on Friday. The Golden Knights scored two goals in 45 seconds late in the third period to stun the Avalanche in a 3-2 victory as -115 home favorites in front of a full house at T-Mobile Arena after losing the first two games on the road. Vegas winger Max Pacioretty tallied the game-winner on a deflection from defenseman Nick Holden at the 15:27 mark of the third, sending the sold-out crowd into a frenzy.
¡¡¡¡Colorado¡¯s Mikko Rantanen had given his team a 2-1 lead with his fourth goal of the playoffs early in the third on the power play, but goalie Philipp Grubauer was bombarded with 43 shots and could only save 40 of them. Fellow goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was great late again for the Golden Knights, stopping 18 shots including a few big ones at the end to prevent the Avs from tying the game. Colorado suffered its first loss of the postseason and saw its 11-game winning streak overall end too. The UNDER also improved to 8-3 in the past 11 meetings and fell on exactly five goals for the fifth time.
